About the New Tradition

We have a wide-ranging repertoire: exciting, fun Broadway numbers, classy Big Band songs, tunes from your favorite children's movies, stirring, emotional ballads, patriotic numbers brimming with pride, and lots more.

Founded in 1982 by men focused on musical excellence, The New Tradition has created many memorable performances. Our members strive to always improve their skills and to share those skills with others. We receive high-quality musical instruction from our talented director and from the many expert coaches we hire throughout the year.

The New Tradition is an all-volunteer group. We are always looking for men of any age or skill level who would like to join us. If our mission of musical excellence appeals to you, we'd love for you to come visit our rehearsal. Find out if the chorus is right for you!

Competition

The New Tradition has a proud history of competition. We have won 19 medals in the Barbershop Harmony Society's International Chorus Contest including a streak of 8 Silver Medals (followed by a Gold Medal in '01) that remains unrivaled.

Competition is a great way for us to focus on singing at our very best, and it's a lot of fun for the men in the chorus as well as for the audience! The New Tradition has created many innovative contest packages, including our Irish Packages, Les Miserables, the Soldier Package, and many more. Contest time is always one of the most exciting parts of our year.
